Eedris Abdulkareem releases new song thanking wife for donating her kidney 

Eedris Abdulkareem was diagnosed with kidney failure in July 2022 but his wife, Sekinat came to his rescue by donating one of her kidneys to him

Veteran Nigerian singer and lead rapper of the defunct Hip Hop band ‘The Remedies’, Eedris Turayo Abdulkareem Ajenifuja, aka Eedris Abdulkareem, sent the internet buzzing after dedicating a new song to his wife, Sekinat. 

The rapper was diagnosed with kidney failure in July 2022 and his wife came to his rescue by donating one of her kidneys to him. 

Eedris in a new post on his Instagram page shared a video of him in the studio recording a song where he appreciated his wife for her rare gesture.  

He captioned the video: “I say thank you because you have been amazingly kind and good to me; you’ve done this at your own expense, may ALLAH bless and reward you Amin Yarabi.”

In the new song, which is currently trending on social media, the 48-year-old artiste also thanked the surgeon who performed the kidney transplant and revealed his identity.

After the clip found its way to social media, Nigerians trooped to the comment section of the post and hailed Eedris for being a grateful husband.

An IG user, @joeelkennis said: “Thank you mamabless up baba.” 

The hospital where he performed the operation, @stnicholas_ng wrote: “Thank you Eedris Abdulkareem for choosing St. Nicholas Hospital as the “destination” for Kidney care and transplantation. We are grateful for your trust in us and for bringing attention to the high level of care provided during the transplant at our facility.” 

@uzybestofficial added: “Legendary doings. You married a true gem as a wify. God bless you both.” 

Another internet user, @kofoworolaayinke also wrote: “@abdulkareemeedris she paid back in my opinion, many at times stardom gets into people’s head and they want to oppress everyone around them forgetting that nothing in this world is permanent. We say Thank you to her and you too for not hurting her, so it’s a pay back time, enjoy.” 

While @dedrieaoye said: “I can share in your joy. I also did the same for my husband. And like my husband will always tell. He said I have given him a chance to live again.” 

Responding to their comments the singer replied: “Amen and thank you my people GOD bless you all.”

Abdulakareem has been married to his wife, Sekinat for over 18 years, and they have three kids together.
