The people of Edo State are already pouring into all the 2,627 Polling Units of Edo state to decide who the governor becomes today.
The eligible numbers of voters are 1.7 million. A whopping 480,000 won’t be voting because they couldn’t collect their voters’ cards.
Edo has three senatorial districts – Edo North, Edo Central and Edo South. The votes in these districts are expected to represent the different political interest in the state. There are 18 local government and 193 political wards.
There are 14 candidates in the election, but only two are prominent – Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Osagie Ize-Iyamu, of the All progressives Congress (APC).
