The Edo State Head of Service Football Tournament, (MEESSFT) has commenced as Edo State Sports Commission staff are set to showcase their skills on the football field alongside 17 other government agencies.
The State Sports Commission Chairman, Olympian (Skippoo) Yusuf Alli expressed confidence in the Sports Commission team’s preparation, highlighting the intense training sessions held at the University of Benin, Ekenwan Campus football pitch.
Alli encouraged the team to participate in the tournament but also aim at victory and bring the trophy home to the Sports Commission to show “our dedication and passion for the game.”
He added: “The football encounter was organised to strengthen the bonds existing between Agencies and Department in the Edo State Civil service for healthy Service delivery.”
