Manchester City goalkeeper, Ederson has admitted that the decision of Brazil Interim coach, Ramon Menezes not to call up Liverpool goalkeeper, Alisson, for the match against Morocco during March international break came as a shock to him.
Alisson, who was in goal for most of Brazil’s matches during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar and Ederson are long-time rivals for the Brazil goalkeeping spot.
The South American country are expected to play a friendly against the north African side on Saturday, being their only game during this international break.
Consequently, coach Ramon Menezes revealed his 23-man squad for the fixture earlier this month.

There were many surprise omissions from the squad but the decision to leave out Alisson, who has been his country’s first-choice keeper since around 2016, raised a lot of queries.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the friendly game against Morocco Ederson said: “The first moment I saw the list I was surprised, but it’s the coach’s decision. They are choices, I thought he would be on the list, but he was not,”
“I do not know why, if it is a matter of opportunities for younger players.”
