The chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi state, Stanley Okoro Emegha, has claimed that former Senate President and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Anyim Pius Anyim, has joined the ruling party.
He made this known during a rally held in Ivo, Anyim’s Local Government Area on Saturday, where he described the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) as a critical stakeholder of the APC
The ruling party’s leadership, however, noted that frantic efforts were made before the PDP’s National Leader accepted to join it’s fold.
Emegha went on to say the former Senate President’s pictures were used in the local government chairmanship and councillorship elections’ rally.
He further stated that the whole world would know that Anyim is a stakeholder of the ruling party in the South East zone on July 14.

Speaking at the rally, Emegha said, “I took it personally to approach him about the need to join us because it will not be possible for the entire South East to be negotiating without a man like him.
“I am a fulfilled person today because I saw an APC poster bearing his name and image at the APC rally. It is due to his exigencies that he is not here at this rally.
“I have made frantic and personal efforts and met him in Abuja regarding the need to join us because of his wealth of experience.
“He is such a wonderful personality, and there is no way you can put his picture in our (APC) rally program without his consent. He has already confirmed his membership in the APC, and that is why his picture is allowed in our program today.
“I stand here to announce that Senator Anyim Pius Anyim is a member of the APC. He is not only an APC member but a stakeholder in the APC.
“By the 14th of next month, you will know that he is not only a stakeholder of the APC in Ebonyi State but a stakeholder in the entire South East of the APC.”
