Social critic and ex-senator that represented Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has described the naming of the newly constructed Ebonyi State-owned Airport after President Muhammadu Buhari as shameful.
Sani said that Buhari having two Airports in the country named after him shows the level of sycophancy of those making the decisions.
He advised the outgoing president to decline the gesture of the Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi.
Recall that the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, is the first to name the state Airport in Damaturu after Buhari.

Sani said while it is commendable that the Ebonyi State Government built an international airport, it is immoral to name the airport after Buhari since he has one already in his name.
He suggested that the honour should rather go to either of late Chinua Achebe, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, late Victoria Ironsi, or the late Ikemba of Nnewi, Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu.
He said: “The Construction of Ebonyi Airport is commendable. Kudos. But It’s immoral & sycophantic to name two Airports in the country after Buhari. He should respectfully decline it. The Airport should rather be named after Chinua Achebe, Emeka Anyaokwu,Victoria Ironsi or the Ikemba himself.”
