Eagles, Cameroon, others know opponents in last 16

CAF has released the fixtures for the Round of 16 in the ongoing AFCON after the completion of the group stages, Eagles play on Sunday, January 23

The Confederation of African Football has released the round of 16 fixtures of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria, who finished top of Group D and gained the maximum 9 points, will face Tunisia, while Egypt will face Ivory Coast in the next round.

Three-time former champions Nigeria will remain in Garoua, in Cameroon to play third-placed team Tunisia in the last 16, Eagles play on Sunday, January 23. 

Debutant Comoros were rewarded with a tough fixture against tournament host Cameroon, while Burkina Faso have a date with Gabon.

Cape Verde will take on Sadio Mane’s Senegal in Bafoussam on January 25, while Malawi will meet Morocco on the same day in Yaounde after reaching the knockout rounds for the first time.

Another debutant The Gambia have an encounter with Guinea, and Mali square up against Equatorial Guinea.
