Proprietor of Dodan Warriors Basketball Club, Col. Sam Ahmedu (rtd.), has revealed the target of the club in the ongoing season.

In a chat with TheNiche at the weekend when his club defeated Police Batons 71-66 points at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Ahmedu, who passed a vote of confidence on the club’s technical crew, said so far the team has not performed badly.

“I think we are not doing badly so far in the league. Four wins and three losses is about 66 per cent, and it is not bad. But our aim at the end of the regular season would be to qualify for the playoffs.

“And to be certain of being in the playoffs, we need like nine games, but we can definitely do better as the season progresses,” he said.

He hailed the technical crew of the club headed by Coach Chris Nomigo, who was appointed at the beginning of the season, following the departure of Peter Ahmed to Mark Mentors Basketball Club of Abuja.

“Nomigo remains our coach and his future is very solid. We don’t fire people because we expect them to win seven games and he has not.

“He has to learn. Don’t forget, this is his first job as the head coach and it is part of the training. We will continue to encourage him and give him all the support while we also continue to urge the players to improve on their standard of play for the needed points,” said Ahmedu.
