The Department of State Services (DSS) has released the embattled former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, after keeping him in custody for 134 days.
Mr Bawa was released from the national headquarters of the secret police, ‘Yellow House,’ in Abuja, on Wednesday night.
This comes after the appointment of Ola Olukoyede as the new EFCC chairman by President Bola Tinubu.
In 2019, Mr Olukoyede probed Bawa over alleged sales of seized assets worth over N4.8 billion.

He was investigated and questioned for alleged financial impropriety during his active years in the anti-graft agency.
Sources privy to the development also revealed that the embattled ex-EFCC boss refused to hire a legal representative despite his confinement, reports PUNCH.
