Dogara to commission projects in Yobe

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, is to be special guest at the commissioning of projects in Yobe State on July 29, 2017.

Dogara and 20 other members of the federal Parliament will commission

projects executed by member representing Nangere /Potiskum federal constituency,  Sabo Garbu (Peoples Democratic Party, PDP), who is also the chairman, House Committee on Lake Chad.

Former Police Affairs Minister,  Adamu Maina, will be the chairman of the occasion.

Some of the projects to be commissioned include: Youth skills acquisition centre, with programmes for over 2000 beneficiaries (males and females) , 52 water boreholes  including hand and motorized boreholes in both Nangere and Potiskum, Ultra Mordern Computer Training Centre (School for Higher Islamic Studies), Potiskum; and renovation of blocks of classrooms at Ibn Mas’ud Islamic School,  Potiskum.

Garbu disclosed that the projects’ commissioning was part of his campaign promise to the electorate.

“Our people voted us on the platform of PDP at a critical time when there was agitation for change. It has become necessary for us to reciprocate with democracy dividend, ” Garbu said.

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Yobe State, Sani Inuwa Nguru, and Mohammed Sulyman Lagge, Secretary of the Organizing Committee, jointly explained that arrangements were in top gear to host all the important personalities.
