Residents doctors at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital have joined their counterparts throughout the country in a five-day warning strike. Effort made by journalists to speak with the striking doctors was declined. A visit to the wards show patients waiting to be attended to as nurses and other health workers are on duty. The Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Funmilayo Omojasola, explained that the management received the letter from the resident doctors on the proposed strike. She added that an alternative arrangement had been concluded with senior doctors to attend to the patients.
