Popular Nigerian disc jockey, Florence Otedola popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has spoken about her failed engagement to British boxer, Ryan Taylor.
In 2022 the Nigerian DJ confirmed she was in a romantic relationship with Taylor after a viral video of their marriage proposal made the rounds.
However, rumours of a split emerged on July 15 when the couple unfollowed each other on social media.
Speaking during a recent Women in Management, Business, and Public Service (WIMBIZ) conference in London, DJ Cuppy expressed her thoughts about people who think failure is bad.
The daughter of one of the richest men on the continent, Femi Otedola, said despite being from a privileged background her life has been ‘unpredictable.’

She went on to after her broken engagement, there are more disappointments to come and that she is “okay with the uncertainty.”
DJ Cuppy said,” There is a power in uncertainty. There is a power in not being sure there is also power in failure. Even the biggest most successful women; they don’t always do well.

“They don’t always sell out arenas or bestselling books. Failure is inevitable. We will all have failure in our personal lives and in our professional lives.”
The entertainer further used herself as an example, “I can stand here and tell you how unpredictable my life has been despite being from a privileged background. Whether it is my failed jewelleryline which I started at 28 years old or going to the University of Oxford at 29 and almost failing class.
“To add the cherry on top, last year I got engaged but now I am no longer engaged but such is life. I know my story is still happening but there is more to come and I am okay with the uncertainty.”
