Billionaire heiress and disc jockey Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy has refuted Kanye West’s claim that he is the richest black man in the world.
The US rapper, who attempted to contest the last US election, recently featured on a talk show, “Hollywood Unlocked” where he took exception to being prevented by security operatives from having access to his children despite being “the richest black man.”
In his words; “My daughter wanted me to go inside. I was like, I am the richest black man and North’s father, right, and the security was able to stop me from going into the room with my daughter, and that had not been defined,” he said in part.

Reacting to Kanye’s claim via her Twitter handle, Cuppy rebutted his assertion of being the richest black man saying Dangote, who is her Godfather is the proud recipient of the title.
She, however, admitted being an ardent fan of the 44-year-old superstar but disapproves of his claim about being the richest black man.
She wrote, “Random, I know… I am a huge @KanyeWest fan. However, with all due respect, I feel the need to remind him that he is not the ‘richest black man’ – it is in fact my Godfather @AlikoDangote. Just clearing the air with #facts,”
Bloomberg recently reported that rapper and fashion mogul, Kanye West was officially worth $6.6 billion, making him the richest Blackman in America’s history.
However, Forbes debunked Kanye’s claims in 2021. According to the magazine, as of 2021, Dangote is the richest black man in the world with a net worth of $13.5 billion.
