Justice Othman Musa of a Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Bwari, Abuja, Thursday issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc, Herbert Wigwe and two others over their failure to be in court to answer charges filed against them by the Independent Corrupt Practices And Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

The other two to be arrested alongside Wigwe as ordered by the court include Mrs. Neka Adogu who is a senior officer of the bank and Access Bank Plc.

The judge issued the bench warrant , consequent upon the submission of the prosecution lawyer, Osuebeni Akposinimingha who lodged a complaint that there were difficulties in getting Wigwe and others to attend court for the purposes of answering the charge pending against them.

It would be recalled that the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) had last week filed a four-count charge with Charge No CR/32/2017 against Wigwe and others.

Specifically, Wigwe, Adogu and the bank are accused among other offences, of refusing to unfreeze some accounts belonging to two of their customers; Blaid Construction Limited and Blaid Properties Limited, even after a court order and a directive to that effect from the ICPC.
