The Regional Overseer of Ondo and Ekiti States of the Apostolic Faith Church, Reverend Akinwumi Ajayi, has urged the Nigerian Youths to shun evil acts and all social vices but rather discover their God-given glory so as to move the society forward.

Rev Ajayi gave the advice in his Sermon titled: “Discover Your Glory” during the inauguration of Rev. Joseph Aro, the newly appointed Ondo State District Overseer which was held at the Auditorium of the Apostolic Faith Church Headquarters in Akure on Sunday, October 31.

He posited that youths are the stronghold of every nation, noting that the violence and vices in the country could be checked if the youths are engaged in one or two things and that there is no idle person among them.

According to him, many youths do not discover who they are and the precious potentials in them, making a biblical reference to David who confronted Goliath despite not being a trained soldier.

“As a human being, you have your glory, look at the life of Joseph, from a young age, Joseph believed God had destined him for greatness. In dreams, God assured Joseph that he would rise to a position of leadership over his parents and brothers (Gen.37:2-11)

“From Joseph’s point of view, these dreams were evidence of divine blessing, rather than his own ambition. From his brothers’ point of view, however, the dreams were further manifestations of the unfair privilege that Joseph enjoyed as the favourite son of their father, Jacob.

“Look at chameleon, it has its own glory, you have your glory too. Apostolic Faith is a church where Glory is being discovered with prayers. The church is glorious in unity and doctrine. There is a hidden treasure in every youth that can bring about absolute transformation to their lives.” Ajayi noted.

He, however, urged the youths to think outside the box rather than engage in social vices that could ruin them and society.

“We must guide our hearts rightly and take our stand for God like Joseph in speaking positive words rather than uttering negative words that can ruin our destiny or that of others in the long run,” he advised.

Rev Ajayi appealed to youths not to be discouraged by what people say in fulfilling their destiny in life.
