Alhaji Balarabe Kabara, the Director, Kano State Fire Service, has advised tanker drivers in the state to always carry fire extinguisher in their vehicles.
He gave the advice on Friday in Kano in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
He said the advice was necessary following fire incident at AA Alfa Petroleum filling station, where a tanker loaded with petrol caught fire on Thursday night.
He said that the fire could have been averted if there was fire extinguisher in the vehicle.
“The incident happened at 10 p.m. Even though no life was lost, the tanker was completely burnt and it took our men three hours to quench the fire, ‘he said.
Kabara advised residents to be careful and vigilant to avoid such incident.
