Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and former gubernatorial candidate in the last election in Kogi State, Dino Melaye, has berated security operatives who reportedly maltreated Nigerians who took part in the August nationwide protester.

He chastised them following reports that some youths protesting against the high cost of living in Nigeria were  manhandled by the police and other security operatives.

While demonstrators were allegedly gunned down in Kano State after the EndBadGovernance protest turned violent, others in other parts of the country were arrested and incaserated by security agents.

Reacting to the development, Dino Melaye expressed disappointment in the security officers.

He went on to urge the operatives to rescind from such acts, stressing that the economic downturn was affecting everyone, including them.

Speaking via his X page, the former senator tweeted, “We all go to the same market, same filling station, spend the same naira, police and other security agencies have no special market or special filling station.

“Treat the people with respect. After all, they are your cousins, brother, sister, sons, or relatives.”
