Dino Melaye plagiarised Rev Father on ‘revenge of the poor’ tweet

Dino Melaye

The Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, tweeted on May 17 on the ‘revenge of the poor,’ a possible violent revolution against the privileged class.

It turned out that Dino lifted the line from a sermon of Reverend Father George Ehusani, a priest whose sermons were always aired every Sunday at 11 pm on AIT.

The priest had said during the particular sermon that Nigerian elite should be prepared for the ‘revenge of the poor’ as it happened in France, Russia and Sudan.

Few days after the sermon, aired on AIT, Dino reproduced a part of it in his tweet.

“I am afraid of the revenge of the poor, it happened in Russia, France and recently in Sudan. It can happen in Nigeria. Housing segregation put us the elite in jeopardy. Ikoyi, Banana (Island), Maitama, Asokoro etc. Our leaders + me beware of violent revolution. Perilous times loading. SDM.”

Dino did not, however, attribute the idea to the Priest. He presented it as if it were his original thought.

Kakaaki Socials of May 20, called out Dino for plagiarism.
The Senator has not responded.
