A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Dino Melaye has hailed the decision of a court to remand former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello in prison.

Speaking via his X page on Wednesday, the former senator noted that he had predicted Bello’s imprisonment about six years ago.

Melaye was reacting to Tuesday’s verdict of a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in the money laundering case brought against the ex-Kogi governor.

TheNiche had earlier reported that the Abuja court remanded Bello in Kuje Correctional Centre pending his bail application.

Justice Maryann Anenih also adjourned hearing in the N110bn money laundering case brought Bello by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to January 29 and 30 and February 25 and 27.

Reacting to the development via his verified social media handle, Dino mocked the former governor, saying he will now spend Christmas in jail.

The former federal lawmaker tweeted, “6 years ago, SDM predicted Yahaya Bello would end up in prison.

“Today, he will be spending Christmas in Kuje prison. All powers belong to God”.
