Diamond Group Nigeria (DGN), a socio-political development group with Nigeria as its focus has congratulated the Presidential Candidate of All Progressive Congress ( APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the candidate for People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and all the candidates of the other political parties for emerging victorious in their party primaries.
The congratulatory message was contained in a statement made available to the press by the leader of the group, Toyyib Musa-Omoloja on Saturday, June 11.
The group commended the parties for allowing internal democracy to prevail while choosing their candidates but decried the monetisation of the exercise.
It also urged the candidates and their political parties to focus on areas such as security, economy, education, health, agriculture, national rebirth, and anti-corruption crusade, if and when elected.

They further said China’s unprecedented metamorphosis is a testimony that growth and development are possible and urged them to replicate the same in Nigeria.
The statement reads, “Diamond Group Nigeria congratulates the Presidential Candidate of All Progressive Congress ( APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the candidate for People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and all the presidential candidates of the other political parties that will vie for the top job in 2023.
“Without doubt, the victory for the respective candidates had been hard-won and well-deserved.
“The group commends the gradual return of internal democracy to the political parties as most of the presidential candidates emerged democratically. Even though, the excessive monetisation of the process was worrisome and posed great danger to leadership recruitment process that may be truly revolutionary.
“Diamond Group Nigeria charges the candidates to bear in mind the challenges of nation building most especially those threatening the collective survival of the country
“The group suggests the following as areas requiring urgent attention :
• Security
• Economy
• Education
• Health
• Agriculture
• National rebirth
• Anti Corruption crusade
“The group is of the considered opinion that this decade can indeed mark the turning point for Nigeria if well utilised. If China can achieve tenfold increase in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for three decades, became the largest world exporter, second largest economy in the world, and raised more than 800 million people out of poverty, Nigeria can indeed achieve same.
” China’s unprecedented metamorphosis is possible and even replicable in Nigeria. Let’s put our hands to the plough.”
