Despite the economic difficulties, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has said that the government is determined to fulfill the promises made to the people during the electioneering campaign.
Speaking at the inaugural “Buharimeter town meeting” organized by the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) on Thursday in Abuja, the Minister revealed that the government is on track and determined to move Nigeria to a higher height.
His words: “Let me say that any meaningful assessment of the first year anniversary of this Administration must be situated in the right context, which is the electioneering campaign by the APC. In this regard, let me remind this audience that we campaigned on three broad areas: To tackle insecurity, fight corruption and revamp the economy”.
Mohammed said the prudent management of our finances, the plugging of leakages and transparency in government has made Nigeria talk about economy today.
“The other schemes in the Buhari presidency Social Investment Program which would be rolled out in the coming weeks, include the Conditional Cash Transfer that pays N5,000 monthly to one million Nigerians, the Micro-Credit Scheme for more than 1.5 million Nigerians, the Home Grown School Feeding program that will serve 5.5 million Nigerian pupils in primary school a free hot meal per day this year and the Education support grant program for 100,000 tertiary students in Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics, STEM and Education”, he added.
