A video of Nollywood stars, Destiny Etiko and Lizzy Gold involved in a brawl during a movie shoot, was staged to increase their Youtube following, the two ladies later said.

The act of seeking attention on social media by using deceptive tactics is called clout chasing. Many Nollywood actors have been involved in this game since brands only endorse celebrities with a big following on social media as their ambassadors.

Last year, Jim Iyke and Uche Maduagwu pretended to be in a messy fight, which later turns out to be a strategy to announce Jim Iyke’s latest movie, ‘Bad Comment.’

Destiny Etiko had posted on her Instagram page a video where she was involved in a ‘fight’ with Lizzy Gold at a movie set. The two were seen shouting at each other and calling themselves unpalatable names.

In the video, Destiny Etiko accused Lizzy Gold of being a hypocrite. Lizzy Gold on the other hand was heard telling another person to stop recording the spat.

Destiny Etiko accompanied the video with the comment “Some people are so ungrateful @lizzygoldofficial u are a chameleon😡😡😡😡😡😡 u are just a devil 😈 Am coming for u.”

Lizzy Gold also reacted, saying: “Done making friends.”

But the two Nollywood actors later clarified that it was a prank. They then urged fans to follow them on their various social media accounts, which include Youtube and Instagram.
