Destiny Etiko wondered why the reality show would interest BBNaija fans when they should be focusing more on the country’s problems

Nollywood actress, Destiny Etiko has expressed disappointment over the excitement displayed by Nigerians after this season’s Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality show commenced.
The thespian wondered why anyone would bother about the show at a time the country is facing serious economic challenges.
TheNiche had earlier reported that the ninth edition of the annual reality television show kicked off on Sunday, July 28.
It featured 28 housemates, who were paired by the organizers into fourteen groups.
Nigerians, after the show premiered over the weekend, took to various social media platforms to express delight at its commencement.
Reacting to the development, Destiny Etiko, in a post on her Instagram page questioned why people can be happy about a TV show when citizens are struggling to survive.

She questioned why such a show would interest Nigerians when people are hungry, adding that attention should be focused more on the country’s problems.
Speaking via her verified social media handle, she wrote: “E don red for our country and I still see some people dey happy about BBN.
“Hmmmmm nawa o oh una still get enough money for DATA Abi? If you guys do not complain, then who am I to do so?
“I am majorly concerned about the poor masses, though. That you can survive does not mean that everyone can.”
BbNaija season 9 with the theme, “No Loose Guard,” promises exciting twists designed to keep viewers on the edge of their seats for the next 71 days.
Curiously, the TV show started a few days to commencement of the planned nationwide demonstration aimed at forcing government to address the economic hardship in the country.
