Desiree Ellis speaks ahead of Olympics qualifier, says Banyana Banyana ‘are ready” for Super Falcons

Head coach of Banyana Banyana of South Africa, Desiree Ellis has told the Super Falcons of Nigeria to prepare for a very tough encounter when they meet, boasting that her team has ‘acclimatized’ to the Nigerian weather.

She made this known while speaking with safa.net, where she also declared her team’s readiness for their 2024 Olympic Games qualifier against Nigeria.

The African champions will confront the Nigerian team in the first leg of their final qualifying round tie at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Friday (today).

Desiree Ellis and her players will be looking for a favourable result going into the reverse fixture next week Tuesday.

Speaking ahead of the consequential encounter, the South African tactician said: “Firstly, I want to say thank you to SAFA and Sasol for making sure that we got here early and acclimatized.

“Even though we have got a heat wave in South Africa, it is a completely different heat.”

She added: “We put in a lot of work at home and we have also put in a lot of work here. The players have come in and put all of it together. I am very excited about the training, commitment, and the effort.”

The game will kick-off at 5 pm Nigeria time.
