Dele Abiodun to perform at Sobe Day celebration

The former President, Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Admiral Dele Abiodun will on Saturday, September 27, perform at the grand finale of this year’s Sobe Day celebration. The all-night musical concert will hold at the playground of St. Eugene’s Catholic School, Sobe, Owan West Local Government Council, Edo State.

This year’s celebration will commence on September 24 with an open crusade organised by members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

 

According to a statement by the chairman of the national organising committee, Mr. Funsho Osoro, this year’s anniversary will feature free medical checks, street carnival, cultural performances, football competition and a musical concert with a renowned Lagos-based juju musician, Admiral Dele Abiodun on the band stand. The theme of this year’s anniversary is ‘Democracy and Unity: The Pivots of Sustainable Development’.

 

The grand finale of the celebration will be chaired by Bishop Pandit Oburekin while the Chairman, Owan West Local Government Council, Edo State, Hon. Charles Aigbodion will be the chief host. The maiden edition of the event was held in 1991 when Sobe was merged with Edo State and it is meant to promote unity and development in the town.
