Deaconess Betsy Ikpeazu, 87-year-old mother of Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, is dead.
Mr Nnaji Obed Asiegbu, SSA to the governor on e-governance & Strategy, in a statement Monday, said Madam Ikpeazu died in the early hours of penultimate Sunday at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Ituku-Ozara in Enugu State.
The late Mrs Ikpeazu, a registered nurse, lived with an artificial valve in her heart for 20 years, returned to Nigeria from the US in May ahead of her son’s swearing-in as the 4th democratically elected Governor of Abia State.
