Filmmaker Tunde Kelani’s latest film, Dazzling Mirage, will premiere on November 7 at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
Ade Solanke wrote the script for the love story, an adaptation of Yinka Egbokhare’s novel of the same title.
Starring Lala Akindoju, Kunle Afolayan and Taiwo Ajai-Lycett, the movie traces the life of a sickle cell sufferer, focused on helping the public understand what sickle cell really means.
Kelani said the film is an inspiring story centred around a young advertising executive.
“This talented, beautiful lady living with sickle cell disorder, Funmiwo (Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju) overcomes social stigma, prejudice and her own low self-esteem to achieve career success, marriage and motherhood. This story is very dear to my heart, and it’s also a love story for those of who gave their hearts to make it – we are very happy to finally share it with the public,” he said.
Shot at various locations in Nigeria, other actors on the project include: Bimbo Manuel, Carol King, Yomi Fash Lanso and Seun Akindele.
