Popular socialite and Davido’s Logistics Manager, Israel Afeare, better known as Israel DMW, has apologized to the Muslims, following a controversial video shared on Twitter by his boss.

TheNiche had earlier reported that Afrobeats singer and record label owner, Davido recently posted a short video of his signee, Logos Olori’s new single ‘Jaye Lo’ on social media.

The clip which captured the moment some people were praying and dancing in front of a mosque later attracted wide criticism from many Nigerians, majority of whom are Muslims.

Many of these netizens called on the ‘Electricity’ crooner to take down what they considered an offensive video and tender an apology for disrespecting Muslims.

Following the backlash, Davido deleted the controversial video on his social media pages but he did not tender any apology.

Despite taking down the video, the Muslim community seems not to be appeased and insisted on a public apology from the singer.

Some aggrieved Muslim youths in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, also took to the streets to protest and publicly set Davido’s picture on a large banner ablaze.

Reacting to the developments, Israel DMW, in a post on his social media page, apologised on behalf of his boss, saying the video is purely an entertainment effort that was wrongly presented.

Taking to his Instagram page, he wrote: “Let me specially apologise to my Muslim brothers and sisters, on the video my oga posted, as a result of him wanting to lift up somebody, which is one of his hubbies.

“It was purely an entertainment effort wrongly presented. Make una no vex. Love you all.”
