Davido reveals his third album costs close to N1bn

Davido also claimed he spent more money on his 3rd album “A Better Time” than his recently released album “Timeless”

Ace Nigerian afrobeat singer and record label owner, David Adeleke, better known as Davido has revealed what he expended on his third studio album “A Better Time”.

According to him, he spent a staggering $2 million (almost one billion naira) on the album, which featured heavyweight international singers such as Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Young Thug, Lil Baby, and Summer Walker.

The “Electricity” crooner made this known during the media tour for his latest album “Timeless” in the United States.

Speaking on the “Ebro in the Morning Show” on Hot 97FM, New York, Davido explained that the money spent on his third album covered features, videos, and promotions.

He went on to disclose he spent more money on the album than his current one ‘Timeless’, but added that he has already made more money from the latest album. 

He said, “My last album, I will tell you, I probably spent $2 million. That is for everything. You know what I’m saying?

“I haven’t even spent $300k on this album [Timeless]. And I made more already in three days. It just shows me the level of where African music is going.”

Davido’s third studio album “A Better Time” was released in 2020 with hit songs such as Birthday Cake, Mebe, The Beat, I Got A Friend, Shopping Spree, On My Way among others.
