Davido redeems pledge to orphanages, adds N50M to donation

Davido has donated the proceeds of his crowdfunding to orphanages across Nigeria, he also added a personal donation of N50 million 

Musician and songwriter, David Adeleke a.k.a Davido, says he has redeemed his N250 million pledge to orphanages across Nigeria. 

The singer who asked friends, family, and fans to donate a million each into his account not so long ago, later gave the figure he realized as an amount in the range of N200 million. 

He also pledged he will be donating the money received to orphanages across Nigeria, while also saying he would add a personal donation of N50 million to the money.

According to NAN, Davido has now added N50 million to the Wema Bank account were his friends and colleagues donated the initial N200 million, making the total sum N250 million. 

The thespian also took to his Instagram page on Monday to announce the payment of the N50 million. 

He wrote: “My N50 million donations have been added for transparency and more details soon regarding the disbursement of funds”.

He also asked for the continuous support of his colleagues and fans, in his quest to continue the fundraising, as he celebrates his birthday every year. 

“I hope that friends, fans, and colleagues in the industry will continue to support me as I drive this cause,” he said.

Adeleke added that a five-man committee has been nominated to compile the list of the orphanage homes in the country and distribute the fund to the beneficiaries.
