Dangote Refinery, while announcing the development, said the feat is the result of a strategic collaboration between itself and Neptune Oil

Dangote Refinery and Neptune Oil on Wednesday, jointly announced the first-ever export of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) otherwise known as petrol from Dangote Refinery to Nigeria’s neighbour, Cameroon.
This was made known in a statement issued by the Africa’s largest oil refinery and Neptune Oil.
They said the feat is the result of a strategic collaboration between the two companies, underscoring their commitment to strengthening economic ties between Nigeria and Cameroon while meeting the region’s growing energy demands.
The statement further noted that both companies are exploring further initiatives to establish a reliable supply chain, while also aiming to stabilize fuel prices and create new economic opportunities in the region.
Reacting to the development, President and CEO of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote said the export of petrol to Cameroon is a tangible demonstration of the group’s vision for a united and energy-independent Africa.”

He went on to add that, “With this development, we are laying the foundation for a future where African resources are refined and exchanged within the continent for the benefit of our people.”
Also speaking on the feat, Director and Owner of Neptune Oil, Antoine Ndzengue, said the partnership with Dangote Refinery marks a turning point for Cameroon after it became the first importer of petroleum products from the world-class refinery.
“We are bolstering our country’s energy security and supporting local
economic development. This initial supply, executed without international
intermediaries, reflects our commitment to serving our markets independently and efficiently,” he stated.
