Dangote Refinery cuts ex-depot price of petrol

By Jeffrey Agbo

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

The new ex-depot price is set at N970 per litre, a decrease from the earlier announced N990 per litre.

This price reduction is expected to benefit oil marketers, who will now purchase petrol from the refinery based in Lekki at a lower cost.

Anthony Chiejina, Dangote Group’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, said in a statement on Sunday that the move is the refinery’s way of appreciating Nigerians “for their unwavering support in making the refinery a dream come true”.

The company also expressed gratitude to the government for its role in fostering domestic enterprise.

“While the refinery would not compromise on the quality of its petroleum products, we assure you of best quality products that are environmentally friendly and sustainable.

“We are determined to keep ramping up production to meet and surpass our domestic fuel consumption; thus, dispelling any fear of a shortfall in supply,” the statement added.
