Dangote Cement has been adjudged by consumers as the Most Trusted Brand of the Year in 2022, a year in which Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) also received the Largest Corporate Bond lodgment on FMDQ in gold category award.

Parent company Dangote Group itself is named as the Most Outstanding Conglomerate in Environmental Sustainability.

Africa’s largest cement manufacturer came tops in the stock market for its unprecedented N116 billion Series 2 Bond issuance back in May.

FMDQ Gold Award recognises excellence in Fixed Income, Currencies and Derivatives market.

It recognises resilience of financial market participants, and acknowledges the efforts of stakeholders and their participation in FMDQ and financial markets.

The award is also given to a corporate entity for the highest total bonds value admitted on FMDQ Depository.

Most Trusted Brand Award

Dangote Cement was chosen as the most trusted cement brand in a survey of 13,000 consumers, and received the accolade at the annual Most Trusted Brand Award organised by Brand Health.

Brand Health Chief Executive Officer Emman Udowoima commended Dangote Cement for the achievement, describing it as a brand of trust and choice indeed.

“Four out of ten consumers who took part in the study voted Dangote Cement as the Most Trusted Cement Brand in Nigeria.

“The popularity and the confidence in the brand is overwhelming as its closest rival scored just 12 per cent while Dangote scored 41 per cent,” he said.

Other cement brands scored between 3 and 8 per cent.

About 13,000 respondents participated in the 2022 survey across 11 states – Lagos, Oyo, Enugu, Abia, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Plateau, Adamawa, Borno, Kaduna, Kano, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), according to Udowoima.

Most Outstanding Conglomerate Award

Dangote Industries also received the award for the Most Outstanding Conglomerate in Environmental Sustainability given by the Environmental Sustainability Conference, Expo and Awards (ECOSEA) initiated by Brand Communicator.

Joshua Ajayi, the convener of the conference and awards said, “corporate sustainability practices evolved rapidly in the country’s business space, from just being a cosmetic charity activity into organised sustainability needs built into a vision with specific goals.”

The award ceremony gathered the best sustainability players to discuss various issues in sustainability during the conference themed Only One Earth: Building a Safer Environment.

Dangote Industries

Dangote Industries, a conglomerate with an annual group turnover of $4 billion, has invested heavily in building a sustainable business which cuts across Cement, Sugar, Salt, Petroleum, Fertiliser, and Food.

Dangote Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer Anthony Chiejina thanked the organisers and described the awards as another milestone in the Group’s business trajectory.

He said it is a testament to the business model being executed by the manufacturing giant to rejuvenate Nigeria’s economy and the developmental growth of Africa.

“We will continue to impact lives positively through production of goods that meet the peoples’ need,” Chiejina pledged.
