Olawumi gave the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja.

He also warned them against engaging in any fraudulent activities during elections in the country.

Besides, he charged the corps members to take election assignments very seriously as they were “key to the elections”.

“We will not tolerate any misconduct from any corps member in respect to any election exercise and the whole world will be watching you,” he warned.

The director-general also called on politicians to caution their supporters against extending any form of electoral violence to corps members.

He advised the corps members to always carry along their identity card and wear their kits throughout election exercises for easy identification.

He solicited for the support of security agencies to ensure the safety of corps members at every point of election duty.

Olawumi commended the Commissioner of Police deployed for the Ekiti governorship election, Mr Ikechukwu Aduba, and other security agencies for protecting corps members during the exercise.

The director-general also recalled the assurance given him by the Army Brigade Commander, Akure/Ekiti Battalion, Brig.-Gen. Aliyu Momoh, of his support in ensuring the safety of corps members during the election.

He said that the NYSC was a stakeholder in all national civic duties and advised corps members to reject all forms of inducement to safeguard their integrity.
