Customs intercepts thousands of cannabis parcels at Seme border

Well-concealed cannabis intercepted at Seme Border

Operatives of Nigeria Customs Service in Seme Border Command have uncovered 3,186 parcels of cannabis Sativa in 41 sacks concealed with sharp sand.

According to the customs, the duty paid value of the intercepted drug found in a tipper truck is N91,488,977.

Customs Area Controller of the command, Mohammed Jibo who commended his officers for the seizure urged them not to relent in their fight against smuggling and other illegalities across the border.

A statement by Customs Spokesperson for the command, Abdullahi Hussain quoted Jibo, urging his officers to fight smuggling within nooks and crannies of the command in whatever legitimate form while advising officers to collaborate with host community members for more results.

Jibo also called on members of the public to support and cooperate with the service in its revenue collection, trade facilitation, enforcement and implementation of government directives
