Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit, Zone A, Lagos, has seized 22 cars and others valued at N2,237,979,466
Mohammed Aliyu, Controller in charge of the unit, told journalists that 9 of the cars were bullet proof.
The seized bullet proof cars
Mohammed said some of the cars were intercepted inside a bush in Idiroko axis of Ogun state while others were seized after raids in some car shops in Lagos.

He revealed that the customs unit would continue to battle smugglers around South West by seizing their wares and arresting suspected smugglers
“This is the second time I will be briefing the press since I was here. The first time, I told you how we seized contraband goods worth 1.5billion within 2 weeks in office.
“Now, we have seized 22 cars which nine are bullet proof worth about N9.27million while other non bullet proof worth N2.4million,”
Mohammed said his officers intercepted 11,000 bags of 50kilogrammes of rice barely one month its seized 3,000 bags.
“We seize bags of rice on daily basis. If you wait a bit, you will see my officers bring in seized bags of rice. Most times. They come in convoy and immediately they see our officers, some will escape while others arrested,”
“Still,” Mohammed went further, “we also have two big sacks of camouflage Army uniform. This is a National security.

They ran away. If you are in the bush, they always come in twos-the driver and passenger. Immediately you flag them, they will know they are in danger. They will abandon the vehicle and run away. That is why we don’t. have any arrest,” Mohammed
