Cubana Chief Priest urges Nigerians to take EFCC serious after arraingment for Naira Abuse

Cubana Chief Priest also advised Nigerians to stir clear of EFCC in order to avoid the kind of stress the agency put suspects through during trial

Popular celebrity bartender, Pascal Okechukwu, aka Cubana Chief Priest, has urged Nigerians to ensure they avoid confrontation with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He made this known on his Instagram page on Thursday after he reportedly agreed an out-of -court settlement with the anti-graft agency.

Speaking on his ordeal with EFCC, he advised Nigerians to stir clear of financial crimes in order to avoid the kind of stress EFCC put suspects through during trial.

Taking to his verified social media handle, Cubana Chief Priest wrote: “Court day, problem no good Oh, @officialefcc No Dey Joke Oh !!!! Better stay away from their wahala, I’m sure you will not love to pass through this Kinda stress I’m passing through.”

EFCC on April 17 arraigned Cubana Chief Priest before a Federal High Court in Lagos on three counts of spraying and tampering with the naira notes during a social event at Eko Hotel in Lagos State.

After the case was read, he pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him and was granted bail in the sum of N10 million.

Justice Kehinde Ogundare then adjourned the case until May 2, for hearing of the preliminary objection and trial.

However, at the resumption of proceedings, defense counsel,  Chikaosolu Ojukwu (SAN) informed the court that the parties were exploring settlement and have applied the matter be settled pursuant to the provisions of section 14(2) of the EFCC Act.
