Cubana Chief Priest confirms attack, says it happened in Anambra, not Imo

Socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest has debunked reports that he was attacked by gunmen in Imo State.

A blogger had reported he was attacked in Imo. The blogger published a video of a man with the figure of Cubana Chief Priest showing the damage done to his cars by the gunmen.

But the celebrity barman, who was born in Imo, accused the blogger of misleading the public.

“Rubbish information from @instablogoja shit never happened in Imo, stop misleading the society with unverified information,” he wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday.

In another post, he confirmed the incident happened in Anambra.

He said, “God Did!!! The marathon continues, all my people are safe & sound. Sh*t never happened here in Imo. It happened in Anambra on my way to work in Asaba.”

Cubana Chief Priest and his former boss Obi Cubana shook the nation in July 2021 when the latter assembled entertainers, politicians, businessmen and women, friends, associates and relatives in Oba, Anambra State to bury his mum.

Many described the burial as a lavish display of wealth. Obi Cubana owns a chain of nightclubs in major cities in Nigeria.

At the funeral, huge amounts of cash were doled out, in addition to several gifts Obi Cubana received before the event, including cows, foodstuff and drinks. It was reported on several blogs that the businessman got about 246 cows, out of which Cubana Chief Priest allegedly singlehandedly donated 46.

In April, Cubana Chief Priest was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, while travelling to Owerri, Imo State capital.

He was arrested over alleged tax fraud and money laundering. The socialite was released less than 24 hours later.
