Delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been urged to give the presidential ticket of the party to former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, in a rally attended by thousands of youths across the country.

The marchers, from Lagos, Rivers, Ogun, Abuja, Enugu, Anambra, and far away Australia where a lone marcher also joined the agitation, were mobilsed on Twitter with the hashtag  #1MillionMarch4PeterObi

The rain did not stop the energetic turnout in Lagos as it turns out to be fun for the youths who held the #1MillionMarch4PeterObi rally at different locations including Agege, Ikeja and Island.

In Kano, ladies in their Hijab were not left out of the #1MillionMarch4PeterObi as they carried campaign posters of the PDP presidential candidate whose selling pitch has been how to change Nigeria from consumption to productive economy.

In Kaduna, a novelty match was organised in lieu of the #1MillionMarch4PeterObi rally, and was attended by many.

The crowd in all the states in the South East, including Imo, Anambra, Enugu, Abia, was electric.

In Awka, women who were coming out of a church programme, also joined the carnival-like #1MillionMarch4PeterObi rally.

In Rivers, the crowd shook the streets of Port Harcourt where the state governor is also an aspirant for the PDP presidential ticket.

An excited photograph of a cripple, despite having no wheelchair, has been trending on Twitter for also joining the party in demanding that the PDP delegates handover the presidential flag to Peter Obi.

Even Peter Obi’s alma mater were not left behind, as they too brandish banners in solidarity with their old secondary school mate.

Earlier before the #1MillionMarch4PeterObi rallies,  Peter Obi thanked the supporters and appealed to them to obey the laws during the marches.

He said: “Thanks a million for all you have done to support my aspiration. Our mission to salvage Nigeria is noble. As you embark on the #1MillionMarch4PeterObi tomorrow, I wish you a productive & safe outing. Above all, please keep the law. God bless you all.-PO.”
