Cries from aggrieved spirits of the weak and helpless

Injustice over landed properties, bloodshed

“And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab: Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezerite, which he refused to give thee for money; for Naboth is not alive, but dead. And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the Vineyard of Naboth the Jezerite, to take possession of it.

“And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying: Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria; behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to possess it. And thou shalt speak unto him saying, thus saith the Lord: ‘Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying: Thus saith the Lord ‘In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine” (1Kings 21:15-16, 18-19).

There is nothing that grieves the Spirit of God like oppression. Jezebel and King Ahab used their powers as king and queen to dispossess Naboth of his family inheritance by raising false accusation against him and he was stoned to death. Thereafter, Ahab and Jezebel moved in and possessed Naboth’s property.

When the weak and the powerless are killed or dispossessed of their earthly properties, many times the supposedly strong and powerful are ignorant of the fact that the aggrieved spirits of those cheated cry unto God for vengeance and God always fights the cause of the weak, no matter how long it takes.

Many years ago, sometime in the late 60s and 70s in Lagos, Nigeria, there was a popular fetish money-lender. He held sway as a successful businessman. He was a wicked man to the core. His strategy was to lend money to needy, take their lands as collateral and then cast afflictions on the individuals. Those lenders eventually died of one sickness or another and could not meet the agreed payment dates. The wicked businessman would then take possession of the people’s properties.

Through his fetish means, he enriched himself and had lands and houses everywhere in Lagos. Later, he died mysteriously. After his death, his children that were supposed to inherit his property began to die one after another. The anger of God was on the household of the deceased fetish money-lender. He had many children from several wives and concubines. He almost lost all of them. However, the last two were smart enough to cry out for prayers. They went through series of deliverance prayer sessions before they were spared. The wicked will not go unpunished.

In Ibadan, Nigeria, a medical doctor who owned a popular hospital where abortions were procured on regular basis, built a mansion. But he could not live in it with his family. This was because they continued to hear the cries of the aggrieved children. He later ran out of the house.

Find below some consequences of injustice and bloodshed

(2 Samuel 3:28-29) “And afterwards when David heard it, he said, I and my kingdom are guiltless before the Lord forever from the blood of Abner, the son of Ner; let it rest on the head of Joab and all his father’s house and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that hath an issue or that is a leper, or that leaneth on a staff, or that falleth on the sword or that lacketh bread”.

Here, the verdict/punishment includes:
• One that hath an issue (unending menstrual flow) – 2 Sam 3:29.
• A Leper.
• One that leaneth on staff (using crutches) – 2 Sam 3:29.

• Ground failing to yield her strength – Gen 4:12.
• Fugitive/vagabond (moving up and down with nothing to show) – Gen 4: 12.
How do you to neutralise these curses?
• Genuine repentance and dedication to God.
