CRFFN to stop accreditation of new associations, APFFLON kicks

-

The President, African Professionals Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APFFLON),  Otunba Frank Ogunojemite, has flayed the decision of the Council for the Regulations of Freight Forwarding In Nigeria (CRFFN) to halt further accreditation of new associations.

It would be recalled that the Registrar of the Council, Barr. Sam Nwakohu,  had said the Council will not accredit or register any freight forwarding association aside the five already registered while urging other associations awaiting accreditation to merge with the existing registered five.

Reacting to the statement of the Registrar,  Otunba  Oguojemite dismissed the decision of the Council, stating that some of the non- accredited associations are performing better than the accredited ones.

Ogunojemite, in a chat said the associations cannot be forced to merge with existing registered associations under CRFFN, stating that the Nigeria constitution has given everyone the freedom of association.

The APFFLON  President further noted that many of the freight forwarders are more knowledgeable than those in the Council.

“If the Council is functioning as it were,  there won’t be need for the recent task forces that are been set up by the various accredited associations.

He said with or without accreditation,  APFFLON will continue to advocate for the ease of doing business in the ports.
