COVID-19: U.S. overtakes Italy in prevalence rate

The United States of America has taken the lead from Italy, as the second most infected country with the scourge of coronavirus.

Within hours on Thursday, the U.S. recorded 6.855 new cases to displace Italy.

The overall cases in the U.S. is now 75,066. It was about 65,000 few hours ago.

Italy has 74,386 cases but it, however, has the largest number of deaths from the pandemic, a whopping 7003 people.

China comes second on the list of deaths from the infection, which stands at 3287. The USA makes the third mortality rate.

It has so far recorded 1,980.

Experts say within the next 24 hours, the US may soon outpace China as the country with the most cases. China’s case has been crawling for sometime now. It is 81,285.

So far, Nigeria still stands at 51 cases.
