It was the turn of Nigeria’s former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to show solidarity to the presidency on Tuesday after news broke that the dreaded coronavirus has found its ways into the innermost sanctum of Aso Rock.
Multiple media reports on Tuesday said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s chief of staff, Abba Kyari, the most powerful man in Buhari’s presidency, has tested positive for the dreaded virus.
Kyari, the linchpin of the Buhari presidency is in his 70s, and because of the role he plays as the clearing house of the administration, his illness could have ramifications for the running of the country.
Reacting on Tuesday through a tweet, Atiku, whose son had earlier tested positive, said, “My thoughts and prayers are with Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.”
Kyari is said to have gone into isolation.
