The popular gospel singer died on April 8, 2022, in controversial circumstances and her husband was arrested following allegations of maltreatment and domestic violence against his late wife by her family and friends.
After Nwachukwu’s arrest by the Nigeria Police Force, his case file was transferred to the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation for prosecution.

He was subsequently remanded at the Kuje Correctional facility in the nation’s capital.
However, following a report by the police which indicated there was no mark of violence noticed on the deceased and listed the causes of her death to include “generalized organ pallor, bilateral leg swelling, fluid in the sac containing the heart. Tumor deposits in and on the heart, lungs, kidneys. Massively enlarged heart and fluid around the lungs which restrict breathing.”
Nwachukwu’s lawyer, A. Aliyu, had filed a no case submission before the high court judge.
Aliyu argued that the report of medical practitioners presented by the prosecution completely exonerated Osinachi’s husband of culpable homicide.
During Tuesday’s resumed hearing, Justice Nwosu-Iheme fixed October 17 to rule on the no case submission application filed by Nwachukwu.
