An Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun on Wednesday remanded two men- Samuel Emmanuel, 29; and Victory Ogbolem, 31, in prison custody over alleged murder.
The accused persons were arraigned for allegedly stabbing a 37-year-old man, Julius Michael, to death with broken bottle and cutlass.
The Magistrate, Mr Folarin Iroko, ordered that they should be remanded in Oba Prisons in Abeakuta, pending advice from the Ogun Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The accused, whose addresses were unknown, are facing a charge of murder.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Lydia Omatahunde, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on April 11 at about 8.00 a.m. at Mopin, Iyesi, in Ota.
Omatahunde said that the offence contravened Sections 316, 319 and 324 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The case was adjourned till July 24 for hearing.
