The Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Government House and Protocol, Mr. Eddy Ogidi-Gbegbaje, has charged youths to acquire entrepreneurial skill and contribute to the economic development of the country.
During a send-forth party organized by the Directorate for the outgoing 2016 “Batch B” Corps Members, Ogidi-Gbegbaje, said, “given our present economic situation, it would be better for youths to be entrepreneurs and employers than to look for no-existent white collar jobs.”
According to him, “In our present world where everyone is clamoring and stressing the need for entrepreneurial skills because jobs are difficult to come by these days, the jobs are there but for the few privileged ones. So try and stay up a small business and create employment and contributing to the economic growth of the nation.
“You can control your destiny by working hard, we are all blessed with different talents, so make good use of your time. I will advise those of you that cannot start off with any skill immediately to go for your post graduate study, apply for courses that would give you competitive advantage over others and be computer literate to help you secure a good job, when the need arises.”
While advising them to always put up their best in whatever they do in life, Ogidi-Gbegbaje urged youths to avoid bad friends and peer pressure that can lead them astray, adding that the 17 Corps members have served credibly well in the directorate.
Responding, Miss Umesike Sandra, who spoke on behalf of her colleagues, thanked the management of the Directorate for their support and care while serving with them and promised to be good citizens of the country.
