Collymore warns Chelsea against signing Neymar

Collymore believes Neymar may bring the kind of disharmony caused by Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United, if he ends up at Chelsea

English football Pundit and former Liverpool striker, Stan Collymore, has warned west London club, Chelsea, not to sign Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Brazil star, Neymar.

The Reds legend gave the advice recently, arguing that the Brazil international might bring about the disharmony caused by Portuguese striker, Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United, if he ends up at Chelsea.

Neymar has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer, as

Boehly has been reported by several news outlets to be keen on signing the former Barcelona striker.

The Chelsea co-owner is also said to have held talks with the forward’s agents.

Speaking on the development in his column for CaughtOffisde, Collymore claimed that Chelsea does not need the PSG player despite his technical abilities.

He wrote, “There is always been this playboy lifestyle hanging over Neymar, so if a Premier League club is really looking at him seriously, my message to them would be to be careful because it could turn out to be another Cristiano Ronaldo and Man United situation.”

“Neither Manchester club should take him and Chelsea, who appears to be the club most heavily-linked (90min), definitely don’t need him.”

He continued, “I think Neymar is a fantastic player, but joining Chelsea would be an awful move in my opinion because the Blues’ project is to build for the future and if Neymar were to come to Stamford Bridge, you could just imagine much of Graham Potter’s time in front of the media would be taken up by questions on the Brazilian.”

Neymar’s current contract with PSG will expire in 2025, the 31-year-old joined the French club from Barcelona in 2017.
