A three-bedroom bungalow located at Orisha Street, Isheri, Magodo in Lagos on Saturday collapsed during a heavy downpour and killed four siblings of the same parents.
The deceased were, Sylva Odiah, 24; Sayo,15; Clinton, 11 and eight year-old Endurance Odiah, all of them children of Mr. Gowin Odiah from Edo State.
A witness who identified himself as Samson Asowata, and was overheard speaking the Bini language, said their mother was also inside the building when it collapsed and was rushed to nearby Mayflower Hospital, where the mother of seven was rejected for treatment because, “They said there was no card. Maybe they saw her critical condition and they think they won’t be able to handle her treatment. She was immediately rushed to Tabasco Hospital.”
He said, “They are all the children of Mr. Goodwin Odia. He is about 50 years old from Edo State. He is a very nice neighbour doing well with his family before this incident happened.
“It will also interest you to know that another mudslide occured six houses away from the incident site at about 10.05 on another bungalow, but the occupant ran out immediately for safety.”
Another resident told journalists that the bungalow did not collapse by itself but failed to explain.
