Cole argued that even though Fernandez was the last man beaten by the goal scorer, Mudryk, who was the closest to him should have stopped him

Football Pundit and Chelsea legend, Joe Cole has blamed one of the west London club’s new recruits, Mykhailo Mudryk for the Blue’s loss to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League game played on Wednesday night.
Chelsea were beaten 1-0 by the Bundesliga side who after the victory will go into the return leg at Stamford Bridge with a slim advantage.
The only goal of the match was scored in the 58th minute by Karim Adeyemi who found the net after going past record-signing, Enzo Fernandez.

Dortmund’s goal came from a Blues’ corner which was cleared to the part of Adeyemi on the edge of the box.
The 21-year-old forward then blitzed past Fernandez before rounding up goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga to calmly slot the ball into an empty net.
While Fernandez has been blamed by most pundits for the goal by the pacy winger, Cole disagreed, insisting another player was at fault.
According to him, Mudryk was the closest Chelsea player to Adeyemi but he allowed him to speed away with the ball virtually unopposed.
Speaking on BT Sport after the match he said: “There needs to be a bit of blame on Mudryk.
“As soon as you realise that the ball [has been cleared], right, switch on defensively. He just lets [Adeyemi] run off him.
“I feel like quick players can lose concentration because they feel that their pace can get them away with it.”
Mudryk appeared to be on his way to Arsenal during the January transfer window but the move was hijacked by Chelsea, who eventually paid £89m for his services.
