Cleric drums support for anti-corruption measures of government

The priest in charge of Saint Francis Catholic Mission, Daudu in Benue, Rev.Fr. Solomon Ukeyima, has called on Nigerians to support the federal government in its quest to rid the country of corruption.

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in an interview on Thursday in Makurdi, Ukeyima said President Muhammadu Buhari, deserved the support of all Nigerians to win the anti-graft war.

 

 

He appealed to Nigerians to rally round him by exposing all corrupt people, regardless of tribe or religious affiliations.

 

 

” I appeal to all Nigerians to support this administration to succeed in its quest to rid the country of corruption.

 

 

” Every one has a role to play and I urge all to play such roles honestly, to enable the government achieve the desired results for the overall interest of our country,” he said.

 

 

He commended the government for ensuring peace and stability across the country, and called for intensified efforts at flushing out insurgents in the North Eastern parts of the country.

 

 

” The fact that we are together as a nation despite predictions of a break-up from prophets of doom alone, calls for jubilation.

 

 

“We should be grateful to God and to ourselves for staying together despite our differences,” he added.

 

 

The cleric also lauded the efforts of Gov Samuel Ortom in recovering illegal arms from the hands of criminal gangs in the state.(NAN)
